HIMACHAL PRADESH

Himachal Pradesh - the land of eternal snow peaks - takes in the transition zone from the plains to the high Himalaya and, in the trans-Himalayan region of Lahaul and Spiti, actually crosses that mighty barrier to the Tibetan plateau.
When I visited Himachal during a business trip I mainly stayed in the region of Shimla (you find more about this trip in my Online Diary).
Himachal Pradesh is a perfect getaway from Delhi - the air is clean and fresh, the climate is cool, the landscape is totally different, and everything is more relaxed.
