"THE LAST FRONTIER" PALAWAN

November 23 to December 12, 2002

Palawan, considered as the Philippines' last ecological frontier, with its 1,780 islands is situated on the Western border of the Philippines.
The name Palawan was believed to come from the Chinese word "PA-LAO-YU" meaning "The Land of Beautiful and Safe Harbor" and a Spanish word PARAGUA which likens the shape of the island to a closed umbrella.

Palawan doesn't offer any noteworthy sights except the Underground River and the Tabon Caves, but it's the friendly people, the unspoilt nature and the lonesome beaches that make Palawan so attractive and delightful. With the proper thirst for adventure, Palawan is the place for you! And it will stay in your memory forever, I promise!
