Algarve

The Algarve is said to be a dream-holiday-destination with gorgeous beaches, warm water and glorious sunshine year-round. Of course, the Algarve is a charming region with lovely towns and long stretches of coast, but I didn't fall for it entirely. I loved Lagos and the old part of Faro, I enjoyed the stunning cliffs and beaches around Sagres (Cabo de São Vicente) but I was disappointed by the beaches that are surrounded by huge hotels and by the masses of tourists. Probably we just didn't happen to find the lonesome, beautiful beaches of the Algarve…
Nevertheless, I did enjoy my time down there.
